The Food and Agro-Industry Department deals with the whole range of agricultural outputs, transportation, storage, processing, packaging and commercialisation, including certification, labelling and marketing issues. This Department manages all the components of the Food and Feed chain.

The Food and Agro-industry Department works in the scope of the EU Framework Contract : Lot 1 Rural Development and Food Security when the requested services concern the processing related to the agricultural activities.

The Food and Agro-Industry Department  is also involved in the EU Framework Contract COLEACP (Europe-Africa-Caribbean-Pacific Liaison Committee), Pesticides Initiative Programme (PIP). This Framework contract aims to propose technical assistance to private company of the agro-industrial sector in the ACP countries. The PIP intends responding to applications from private companies in the ACP fresh fruit and vegetable export trade to the European Union. They are confronted with strengthening of European buyers' requirements in terms of health quality (pesticide residues) and traceability.

The Food and Agro-industry Department is leading an International Consortium and execute numerous projects of quality management, quality control, training, and certification in the field of pesticides uses mainly for the vegetable sector in the developping countries.
