The Urban Environment and Water Management Department focuses on activities related to urban planning, supply of drinking water, sanitation and sewerage, air and water pollution, waste water treatment and solid waste collection and treatment.
The Urban Environment and Water Management Department develops his activities through the various aspects of environment. Projects realised range from eco-labelling to noise mapping with specific emphasis on waste and waste water management.
For four years, the Department is leading an International Consortium for the EU Framework Contract: “Lot 6: Environment”. Many of the activities developed in this frame are related to support countries in the process of integrating the European Union to upgrade general environmental protection. The Urban Environment and Water Management Department has developed many projects for the elaboration of new legislation and monitoring services. Those projects have been conducted either as sole intervening party or as a partnership with the beneficiary institution to increase sustainability of the project and training purposes.
The Urban Environment and Water Management Department is also active in all stages of development of infrastructure projects (from studies to works supervision).
